Welcome to undo dog. I am Alex Pile and this is my sandbox on the Interwebs.
I’m 28 years old. I spent my first 19 years in Mook Farm, Kentucky, a small pig and tobacco farm far removed from civilization and cable television wires. I attended University of Chicago and graduated in 2003 with a degree in Fundamentals: Issues & Texts. After college, I moved to Washington, DC and started working in the arts. As the Assistant Manager, Ticketing and Electronic Media, I now manage the ticket office and oversee web analytics at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at Maryland. Each summer, I manage the day-of ticket sales for SILVERDOCS: AFI/Discovery Channel Documentary Festival. And in my spare time, I design websites.
Despite having a blog and Twitter account, I’m not much for talking about myself online. But I’ll try to round out this biography… I’m a fan of technology news and stay up-to-date on the latest offerings from Apple and Google. I love to read and consider Russian literature to be the best. I’m prone to my own personal fads, in which I immerse myself in something, learn as much as I can about it, and then move on to something new. Currently, the fad seems to be board games.
For Nerds: My Setup
I use a 15-inch MacBook Pro, Intel Core Duo 2.0, 2.4 GHz, 4GB RAM.
This site is hosted by Dreamhost and uses WordPress for all of its blogging fun. I heavily modified the Slip-Fire Blueprint theme, making my own custom Blueprint CSS grid for the layout.
I edit the site with Panic’s Coda and Mac Rabbit’s CSSEdit, and I manage the site files with Panic’s Transmit. All of these programs are only available for Macs.
I play my music with iTunes, both because it’s free and because the Genius function is so incredible. The music is crisp and clear through my Klipsch ProMedia 4.1 Speakers (rear speakers not in use).
As for browsers, I use Google Chrome on my PC at work, and I switch between Safari, Firefox, and Chrome on my Mac at home.

- BoardGameGeek – See above about my personal fads. I’m not sure if I’ll be gaming for a long time or if my interest will wane. But for now, I’m totally addicted to board games.
